Real Estate Software Development: MLS Integration, Brokerage Platforms and AI Agents

Real estate technology has its own physics: MLS boards with different RESO dialects, listing data that changes by the minute, photos that expire, agents who live in their phone, and compliance rules on how listings may be displayed. I've built for this world at scale, as the lead engineer and architect of REConnect, a platform serving 100+ brokerages and 20,000+ agents, and as a core developer for Brown Harris Stevens in New York.

The work ranges from the data layer (RESO Web API replication, normalization across boards, media pipelines) to the products agents and clients touch (single-listing websites, IDX search, seller reports, client portals, brokerage CRMs) to the AI layer on top: support agents that resolve about 90% of tickets, listing-aware chatbots and MCP tools that act on brokerage systems safely.

What you get

  • Listings from any MLS board in one canonical model, synced incrementally and kept fresh.

  • Agent and client products that rank in search and load fast on phones.

  • Brokerage CRM and portal features with tenant isolation per brokerage.

  • AI agents grounded in live listing and account data, with audit trails.

FAQ

Which MLS boards have you integrated?

Multiple boards through the RESO Web API, each with its own adapter. The pattern matters more than the list: once the canonical model and adapter structure exist, a new board is a few days of mapping and testing rather than a project.

Can you build an IDX or listing website that ranks on Google?

Yes. Listing pages are server-rendered or statically generated with full metadata and structured data, and media is served from a CDN. That is how marketplace and listing pages get indexed and stay fast.

What can AI realistically do for a brokerage?

Resolve the repetitive support load (sync status, account and billing questions), answer listing questions from live data, draft listing copy and reports, and take scoped actions through tools. On REConnect the support agent handles about 90% of tickets with an audit trail.
